Refund and cancellation policy

Scope

This policy applies to professional engagements with API Dynamo — revenue recognition reviews, billing health checks, multi-entity alignment, and pre-audit walkthroughs. It does not cover retail products, software licences, or subscription access, which we do not sell.

Deposits

A 40% deposit confirms your kickoff week. The deposit is applied to the final fee. Deposits become non-refundable once desk review has begun (document review started after receipt of your pack), except where we cancel the engagement for reasons within our control.

Cancellation by you

• More than ten business days before kickoff: full refund of amounts paid, less any non-recoverable third-party costs disclosed in writing.
• Within ten business days before kickoff, before desk review begins: deposit retained; any amounts above the deposit are refunded.
• After desk review begins: fees for work performed to date are due; unused prepaid amounts above work performed may be partially refunded at our discretion after an accounting of hours.

Cancellation by us

If we cannot staff the engagement or must withdraw for independence or capacity reasons, you receive a full refund of amounts paid for undelivered work.

Rescheduling

One reschedule of the kickoff week is allowed without charge if requested at least five business days in advance. Further reschedules or late changes may incur a rescheduling fee stated in the engagement letter.

No-shows and stalled document packs

If your team misses a scheduled workshop without twenty-four hours’ notice, we may charge for the reserved time. If a document pack remains incomplete for more than twenty business days after kickoff without an agreed pause, we may close the engagement and invoice for work completed; remaining prepaid balances for unfinished phases are refundable.

Work already started

Draft analyses, sample selections, and partial memos remain billable. You may request copies of workpapers prepared to date subject to confidentiality terms in the engagement letter.

Purchased materials

If an engagement requires purchased extracts or filings specific to your matter, those costs are billed at cost and are non-refundable once ordered with your approval.

Refund method and timing

Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method within fourteen business days of written approval. Bank processing times may add several days.

Exceptions

Mandatory consumer protections under Taiwan law, where applicable, take precedence over this policy. Engagement letters may set stricter or more specific commercial terms for large multi-entity projects; where they conflict, the signed letter controls.
